Albuca humilis
Common Name: Dwarf Albuca

Albuca humilis is a charming and compact bulb-forming succulent native to South Africa. It produces slender, grass-like leaves and delicate star-shaped yellow or greenish-yellow flowers that rise above the foliage on thin stalks. This dwarf species is perfect for collectors who love the odd and miniature—especially those drawn to geophytes and caudiciforms.

The plant grows from small underground bulbs and is winter-growing, often going dormant during the heat of summer. Its tidy size makes it ideal for pots, rock gardens, or unusual succulent arrangements.

☀ Light Requirements
Prefers bright, indirect light or filtered sun. Avoid intense midday sun. Indoors, a bright windowsill works well during active growth.

💧 Watering Needs
Water moderately during the growing season (fall to spring), letting soil dry slightly between waterings. Do not water during summer dormancy, when the plant dies back naturally.

🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Hardy to around 25–30°F when dry. Protect from frost and soggy conditions. For winter shipping or cold climates, a [Heat Pack] is recommended.

✨ Special Features
Miniature Bulbous Growth – Perfect for bonsai pots or small displays
Delicate Blooms – Sweet, starry flowers on upright stems
Seasonal Dormancy – Adds interest to your collection year-round

Other Common Names:
Dwarf Albuca, Miniature Slime Lily (though not slimy like Albuca spiralis)

If temperatures near you are below 45℉ we highly recommend adding a Heat Pack to your order.
If temperatures where you live will be much lower than 20℉ even heat packs may not work. You may consider waiting until things warm up a bit. We know you love your plants just like we do and we wouldn't want any of them to freeze.
