Cereus forbesii 'Spiralis'
Common Name: Spiral Cactus
Cereus forbesii 'Spiralis' is a showstopping cactus famous for its mesmerizing spiral growth pattern. As the plant matures, its thick, columnar stem begins to twist dramatically in a perfect corkscrew—making it one of the most visually striking cacti in cultivation. The ridges swirl upward with tightly spaced, curved spines that enhance the motion effect, giving it a sculptural, almost surreal quality.
Native to South America, this variety is relatively fast-growing for a cactus and can reach impressive heights over time, especially when planted in the ground in warm climates. In containers, it stays manageable and remains a true collector's centerpiece.
☀ Light Requirements
Thrives in full sun to bright, indirect light. Outdoors, full sun brings out the best color and growth. Indoors, place near a south- or west-facing window.
💧 Watering Needs
Water deeply only when the soil is completely dry. This species is drought-tolerant and prefers a gritty, well-draining mix. Reduce watering during winter dormancy.
🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Hardy to about 25–30°F in dry conditions. Protect from frost. For colder climates or winter shipping, we recommend adding a [Heat Pack].
