Cereus peruvianus
Common Name: Peruvian Apple Cactus

Cereus peruvianus, also known as the Peruvian Apple Cactus, is a bold and fast-growing columnar cactus prized for its sculptural blue-green stems, dramatic height potential, and edible fruit. Native to South America, this striking cactus can grow into a towering specimen outdoors—or remain a beautiful architectural presence in large containers indoors.

Its thick, ribbed stems are often a rich blue-gray color, and mature plants will produce large, night-blooming white flowers followed by sweet, pink-skinned fruit commonly referred to as “Peruvian apples.”

☀ Light Requirements
Loves full sun and bright conditions. Outdoors, plant in the sunniest spot possible. Indoors, provide strong direct light or a bright window to support upright growth and spine development.

💧 Watering Needs
Water deeply only when the soil is completely dry. More frequent watering may be needed during hot growing months, but always let the pot dry out fully between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.

🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Can tolerate temperatures as low as 25–30°F in dry conditions, but prefers protection from frost. Add a [Heat Pack] for winter shipping if needed.

✨ Special Features
Fast-Growing Columnar Form – Reaches impressive heights with age
Stunning Blue-Green Color – Glows in bright sunlight
Produces Edible Fruit – Tasty “Peruvian apples” follow blooms on mature plants

Other Common Names:
Peruvian Apple, Giant Club Cactus, Night Blooming Cereus
