Euphorbia viguieri
Common Name: Viguier’s Spurge
Euphorbia viguieri is a stunning and exotic Madagascan succulent prized for its bold structure, striking foliage, and bright red cyathia (flowers). This rare euphorbia features a thick, upright central stem with sharp spines and grows a rosette of broad, lance-shaped leaves at the top—deep green on top and maroon underneath—giving it a tropical, almost palm-like appearance.
In the right conditions, Euphorbia viguieri blooms with vivid red bracts that contrast beautifully with its leafy crown. It's a collector's favorite due to its caudiciform base, seasonal leaf drop, and unique growth habit.
☀ Light Requirements
Prefers bright, indirect light or filtered sun. Strong morning sun is ideal, but protect from intense afternoon rays, especially in hot climates.
💧 Watering Needs
Water when the soil is completely dry. This euphorbia is drought-tolerant but appreciates moderate watering during its active growing season (spring to fall). Reduce watering during winter dormancy when leaves are dropped.
🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Protect from temps below 40°F. Not frost-hardy. For winter orders or cold areas, we recommend including a [Heat Pack].
⚠ CAUTION:
Contains toxic white sap that can irritate skin and eyes. Keep away from pets and children. Always handle with care.
