Dyckia 'Brittle Star' x 'Arizona'
Common Name: Spiny Star Dyckia
Dyckia 'Brittle Star' x 'Arizona' is a stunning hybrid bromeliad known for its narrow, deep burgundy to coppery-brown foliage, edged with dramatic, large white teeth. A favorite among collectors, this cultivar forms a dainty, star-shaped rosette that displays a more delicate and intricate growth pattern than the reverse cross. With stiff, heavily spined leaves that present a striking contrast, this Dyckia makes a bold statement in any arid garden, container, or rockery. While technically a bromeliad, Dyckias behave more like succulents, thriving in full sun and requiring very little water.

β˜€ Light Requirements
Thrives in full sun to bright filtered light. Strong light enhances the deep burgundy-bronze coloration and maintains a tight, compact rosette form.

πŸ’§ Watering Needs
Water only when the soil is fully dry. Dyckias are exceptionally drought-tolerant but will appreciate occasional deep waterings during the growing season. Ensure excellent drainage.

🌑 Temperature Tolerance
Cold-hardy down to about 20–25Β°F in dry conditions. For winter orders or cold climates, consider adding a Heat Pack
