Echinopsis terscheckii
Common Name: Argentine Saguaro

Echinopsis terscheckii, often called the Argentine Saguaro, is one of the largest and most majestic columnar cacti in the world. Native to the arid mountains of Argentina, this impressive species is known for its thick, tree-like trunks, deep ribs, and robust spines that range from yellow to reddish-brown. With time and space, it can reach heights of 15 to 25 feet, making it a dramatic focal point in any landscape.

Despite its size in maturity, young plants are well-suited to containers and grow relatively quickly with ample sun and warmth. Mature specimens can produce large, night-blooming white flowers near the crown, attracting pollinators and adding to its visual appeal.

☀ Light Requirements
Thrives in full sun. Outdoors, plant in a bright, open space to promote strong, vertical growth. Indoors, place near the sunniest window or supplement with high-output grow lights.

💧 Watering Needs
Water deeply when soil is fully dry. During the growing season (spring to early fall), it can be watered more frequently, but avoid soggy soil. Reduce watering in winter months.

🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Hardy to about 20–25°F in dry conditions. Protect from frost if soil is wet or temperatures drop for extended periods. Add a [Heat Pack] for winter shipping or cold zones.

✨ Special Features
Massive Growth Potential – A true giant among cacti with tree-like stature
Deep Ribbing & Strong Spines – Bold texture and color contrast
Rare Blooms – White, fragrant flowers bloom at night on mature plants
