Euphorbia francoisii ‘Thai Hybrid’
Common Name: Thai Shield Euphorbia
Euphorbia francoisii ‘Thai Hybrid’ is a highly sought-after cultivar of the Madagascan species, prized for its colorful, variegated foliage and wild, twisting leaf shapes. This hybrid has been selectively bred in Thailand for bold patterns, deep reds, purples, greens, and even pinkish tones, making each plant completely unique and a showpiece in any rare plant collection.
Compact and slow-growing, this plant forms a low-growing rosette or clump and occasionally produces tiny maroon cyathia (flowers). It’s a true collector’s plant—perfect for succulent lovers, bonsai stylists, and caudex enthusiasts alike.
☀ Light Requirements
Prefers bright, indirect light or filtered sun. Strong light brings out the best colors, but protect from harsh afternoon sun, which may scorch the delicate leaves.
💧 Watering Needs
Water sparingly. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can cause rot, especially in cooler months. Reduce watering further during winter dormancy.
🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Best kept above 50°F. Not frost-hardy. For cold climates or winter shipping, we recommend adding a [Heat Pack].
⚠ CAUTION:
As with most euphorbias, the sap is toxic and can irritate skin and eyes. Handle with care and keep away from pets and children.
