Euphorbia fruticosa var. inermis
Common Name: Green Crown Succulent
Euphorbia fruticosa var. inermis, known as the Green Crown Succulent, is a rare, spineless variety of the shrubby Euphorbia fruticosa. Native to arid regions of East Africa, this plant forms a dense cluster of upright, pencil-thick stems in a vibrant, lime to olive-green color. The "inermis" form is especially prized for having no spines, making it both beautiful and safe to handle.
Its stems are lightly segmented and crowned with tiny yellow-green cyathia (flowers) during the growing season. This tough, sculptural plant thrives on neglect, making it an excellent choice for collectors, container gardens, or minimalist interiorscapes.
☀ Light Requirements
Prefers bright, indirect sun or filtered light. Can tolerate full sun with acclimation, but protection from intense afternoon sun is recommended in hot climates.
💧 Watering Needs
Water deeply only when the soil has fully dried out. Euphorbia fruticosa is very drought-tolerant and sensitive to overwatering. Reduce watering during cooler months.
🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Keep above 40°F. Protect from frost. For cold zones or winter shipping, be sure to include a [Heat Pack].
