Haworthia ‘Cortada’
Common Name: Cortada Haworthia
Haworthia ‘Cortada’ is a gorgeous and unusual cultivar celebrated for its dark, architectural rosettes and highly textured, windowed leaves. Each triangular leaf is etched with translucent streaks or “windows” that allow sunlight to penetrate deep into the plant, a trait common in many haworthias adapted to low-light environments.
This variety is compact, clumping over time, and makes a fantastic choice for indoor growers or collectors of rare succulents. Its symmetry, modest size, and interesting surface pattern give it a refined, almost sculptural look perfect for minimalist displays.
☀ Light Requirements
Thrives in bright, indirect light or filtered sun. Too much direct sun may bleach the dark color. Ideal for windowsills, shaded patios, or grow shelves.
💧 Watering Needs
Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry. This species is drought-tolerant but does best with consistent (but infrequent) moisture during the growing season. Reduce watering in winter.
🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Hardy down to around 30–35°F if kept dry. Protect from frost and prolonged cold. For winter orders or colder zones, a [Heat Pack] is recommended.
✨ Special Features
• Striking Leaf Windows – Translucent patterns give a glowing effect in sunlight
• Compact Rosette Form – Perfect for small pots or shelf displays
• Easy to Grow – A resilient plant great for beginners and collectors alike
