Mammillaria Prolifera
Common Name: Texas Nipple Cactus
Mammillaria prolifera is a charming, cluster-forming cactus known for its ability to produce pups prolifically—hence the name! With its small, cylindrical stems covered in soft white spines and dotted with fuzzy areoles, this species quickly forms dense mounds that are both adorable and eye-catching.
Native to parts of the southwestern U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean, this easy-care cactus bursts into bloom with dainty cream to pale yellow flowers, often followed by bright red fruit that adds to its charm. Whether you’re just starting your cactus collection or looking to fill in gaps with texture and color, Mammillaria prolifera delivers.
