Mammillaria prolifera is a charming, cluster-forming cactus known for its ability to produce pups prolifically—hence the name! With its small, cylindrical stems covered in soft white spines and dotted with fuzzy areoles, this species quickly forms dense mounds that are both adorable and eye-catching.

Native to parts of the southwestern U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean, this easy-care cactus bursts into bloom with dainty cream to pale yellow flowers, often followed by bright red fruit that adds to its charm. Loves bright, direct sunlight. Outdoors, it thrives in full sun. Indoors, place near a south- or west-facing window for best results.

💧 Watering Needs
Water thoroughly when soil is completely dry. During active growth (spring/summer), it appreciates a bit more water, but be sure to avoid soggy soil. Cut back during winter dormancy.

🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Cold-tolerant to around 25°F with good drainage and dry conditions. For areas with freezing temps, bring indoors or use frost protection. For winter orders, consider adding a [Heat Pack].

If temperatures near you are below 45℉ we highly recommend adding a Heat Pack to your order.
