Opuntia microdasys monstrose var. pallida
Common Name: Monstrose Bunny Ears (Pale Form)

Opuntia microdasys monstrose var. pallida is a rare and eye-catching form of the classic Bunny Ears cactus, featuring a pale green body and mutated growth habit that gives each pad a unique, sculptural shape. This monstrose mutation causes irregular, bumpy segments that twist and cluster in unexpected directions—making each plant one-of-a-kind.

Unlike the typical microdasys, the pallida form has a softer, yellow-green hue and is often adorned with delicate white or golden glochids (tiny hair-like spines). It’s a perfect collector's piece for fans of weird and wonderful cacti.

☀ Light Requirements
Prefers full sun to bright, indirect light. Outdoors, give it a sunny spot with good airflow. Indoors, a south- or west-facing window will keep it compact and colorful.

💧 Watering Needs
Water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry. This cactus is drought-tolerant and highly sensitive to overwatering. Reduce watering significantly in cooler months.

🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Hardy to about 25–30°F in dry conditions. Protect from frost, especially when wet. For cold climates or winter orders, consider adding a [Heat Pack].

✨ Special Features
Monstrose Growth – Irregular pads give it a wild, sculptural appearance
Pale Green Coloring – Softer tones make it stand out from standard forms
Low Maintenance – Easy to grow and propagate

Other Common Names:
Monstrose Bunny Ears, Pale Form Bunny Ears, Opuntia monstrose pallida
