Stenocereus hollianus
Common Name: Organ Pipe Cactus

Stenocereus hollianus, known as the Organ Pipe Cactus, is a dramatic and fast-growing columnar species native to Mexico. Named for its elegant, multi-stemmed form, this cactus grows in clusters that resemble the pipes of a church organ—making it a favorite for creating vertical interest in arid gardens and large containers.

The stems are slender, light green to blue-green, with well-defined ribs lined by short, bristly spines. With time and maturity, S. hollianus can bloom with creamy white to pale pink flowers, often opening at night and attracting pollinators such as moths and bats.

☀ Light Requirements
Thrives in full sun. Outdoors, plant in a bright, open area. Indoors, place near a very sunny window or use high-output grow lighting to support strong upright growth.

💧 Watering Needs
Water deeply when the soil is completely dry. Requires excellent drainage and minimal watering during colder months. Overwatering should be avoided at all costs.

🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Hardy to around 25°F in dry conditions. Protect from frost and excess winter moisture. For shipping in cold weather, we recommend adding a [Heat Pack].

✨ Special Features
Elegant, Multi-Stemmed Growth – True "organ pipe" shape adds desert drama
Night-Blooming Flowers – Attracts nighttime pollinators like bats and moths
Fast & Vertical – Grows quickly in the right conditions and reaches for the sky
